Program Director

Dr. Sharon Istfan graduated from West Virginia University Medical School in 1993 and completed a residency and chief residency at West Virginia University, Charleston Division. She practiced general pediatrics in the community for two years before returning to the faculty at CAMC. Dr. Istfan has a special interest in Child Abuse and Neglect and became board certified in this subspecialty in 2011.  

Dr. Istfan is the co-medical director of the only hospital based Child Advocacy Center in the state. She has participated in the WV Children's Justice Task Force, the WV Child Fatality Review team and the WV Child Advocacy Network. She has also served as the Clinical Director of Children's Services and Associate Chief Medical Officer at Women and Children's Hospital. She was appointed Pediatric Residency Program Director in 2018. 

Amanda Mullins

Amanda J. Mullins, BA, C-TAGME

Senior Residency Program Specialist - Pediatrics

Amanda Mullins was born and raised in West Virginia and graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  She worked as a Psychometrician in outpatient and inpatient settings for several years before joining the GME in January 2015.  Amanda served as Program Coordinator for the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics and Pharmacy Residencies before becoming the Pediatrics Residency Coordinator in July of 2017.  She is involved with national and regional mentoring groups for Pediatric Residency Coordinators and became TAGME certified in 2017. 
 
Amanda and her husband have two daughters.  They love spending time with family and friends, trips to the beach, all things Disney, and the West Virginia University Mountaineers.
