2025 SUMMER RESEARCH

The CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine is proud to offer our summer research experience to qualified applicants. The program consists of research education/interactions with published authors, hands-on work on an assigned research project and the opportunity to showcase your work by participating in the Young Researcher's Forum, a podium oral presentation after the program.

Length of Externship

Six Weeks 


Date of Program

June 9, 2025 - July 18, 2025 (Monday through Friday)


Stipend Earned

A stipend of $4,000 is offered to accepted externs, paid after the end of the externship. 


Qualifications

You must be a first-year medical student expecting to complete year one before the externship or be a graduate-level student in a health sciences program. Other student applicants may be considered pending project availability. Those who have completed a previous CAMC Summer Research Externship program are not eligible. 


Application Requirements:

  • Completion of online application 
  • Submission of Resume or Curriculum Vitae, and official transcript
  • A letter of interest explaining your education, skills and career goals

People who have completed ALL of the application process requirements by the DEADLINE of Feb. 3, 2025 will be considered for externship selection. Positions are competitive, and decisions are made by the selection committee based on the submitted materials. 

Notifications of selection will be mailed by the end of February 2025 to successful applicants.

 

Externship Expectations: 

You must be prepared to collaborate as needed with the assigned faculty preceptor and research coordinator, as well as attend scheduled didactics and discussions. This is an on-site learning experience. An oral summary of your work must be presented at the conclusion of the externship at the "Young Researcher's Forum" held on CAMC campus. You would be responsible for your own housing.
