Biography

Professional Interests: Dr. Bowe's special interests reside in treating medically complexed, dually diagnosed individuals with addiction disorders in rural communities. She is an advocate for the integrated care model of health delivery. Dr. Bowe is an active member of American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association. As she is passionate about integrated care in substance use disorder treatment she has co-led workshops at AAAP and APA that are geared towards training psychiatrists how to engage family physicians and internists in addictions treatment.  Dr. Bowe is an ASAM and PCSS MAT trainer for medical facilities in rural West Virginia.

Hobbies/Interests: Kayaking, Hiking, birdwatching and working out.

Strengths of Training at CAMC: Multicultural environment, mutual respect amongst the departments, faculty who love to engage residents and teach, and family-oriented peers.

Life in Charleston: Easily accessible outdoor sports such as hiking, kayaking, birdwatching, free state parks, slow-paced, relaxed atmosphere, and warm, welcoming people.
