Biography

David Veloso Lardizabal, MD, is a highly accomplished neurologist and epilepsy specialist with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, education and academic leadership. A graduate of Cebu Institute of Medicine, Dr. Lardizabal completed his residency at Philippine General Hospital and further advanced his training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. His career reflects a deep commitment to patient care, medical education and academic excellence.

Dr. Lardizabal has held key academic and leadership roles at the University of Missouri, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Barnes Jewish Hospital at St. Louis, where he has made significant contributions to simulation education, neurology clerkship and residency training. He has published extensively in esteemed medical journals, particularly in the field of epilepsy, and has authored book chapters in Geriatric Neurology and Epilepsy.

In addition to his scholarly articles and chapters, Dr. Lardizabal is the author of two academic books: Strategic Planning for Academic Physicians and The Academic Physician Leader. These works reflect his expertise in academic medicine and his dedication to developing future physician leaders.

Currently serving as department chair of Neurology at Vandalia Health Charleston Area Medical Center, Dr. Lardizabal continues to advance the field through innovative patient care, research and educational initiatives. His leadership and passion for neurology have established him as a respected figure in the medical community.
