Biography

Dr. Kirvia J. Williams is a board-certified neurologist and the director of the Stroke Prevention and Recovery Clinic (SPARC). Her early background in public health with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene inspired a commitment to breaking down barriers to care and addressing the environmental and lifestyle factors that influence brain and vascular health. Her clinical passion lies in secondary stroke prevention and helping patients preserve and optimize their brain health after a stroke.

Board-certified in vascular neurology after fellowship training at Buffalo General Medical Center — an institution known for cutting-edge stroke care — Dr. Williams brings a wealth of experience from both high-volume comprehensive stroke centers and community hospitals. She is highly proficient in all aspects of acute stroke management, including advanced imaging interpretation, antithrombotic decision-making, and post-stroke care in critical settings.

In her outpatient practice, Dr. Williams takes a proactive and personalized approach to stroke risk reduction. She emphasizes thorough evaluation of stroke etiology, patient education, lifestyle modification and management of comorbidities to support long-term recovery and reduce the risk of recurrent stroke.
