Biography
Leonid Segal, DO, is a board-certified adult neurologist with an interest in a variety of neurologic disorders involving the central and peripheral nervous systems. At CAMC Neurology, he is involved in patient care and medical education.
Prior to embarking on his medical education, Dr. Segal completed a pre-doctoral NIH fellowship in basic science research. He contributed to multiple scientific publications in medical journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Journal of Human Genetics. He then completed his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Through his medical education, he became fascinated by neurology as a unique and challenging medical specialty. He completed his neurology residency training at New Jersey Medical School- Rutgers health care system. There, he was exposed to a variety of diverse patient populations, including caring for United States veterans.
Prior to joining CAMC Neuroscience Institute, Dr. Segal worked as an attending neurologist at Arnot Health Medical Group in Upstate New York. He served as clinical director for the primary stroke center and Neurology services there. He was also involved in medical education of residents and students and became an Asistant Professor of Neurology at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
