Biography

Rena Sukhdeo Singh, MD, is a board-certified neurologist specializing in vascular neurology and stroke care. She joined CAMC after serving as medical director of the Stroke Center at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, where she developed the hospital’s transient ischemic attack protocol and led efforts that helped five counties achieve “Stroke Smart” community designations. In addition to her leadership role, she cared for patients who suffered from strokes and patients with general neurology concerns — including dementias, Parkinson's disease, tremors, headache disorders, migraine, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, epilepsy and more.

Dr. Sukhdeo Singh completed her fellowship in vascular neurology at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, where she served as an associate investigator on the Natural History Study and White Matter Study. She completed her residency training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where she was selected as the chief neurology resident.

She has published multiple articles and book chapters in her field. Her contributions include chapters on stroke, neurocritical care, headache, pain and neuro-otologic conditions for a leading neurology board review textbook, as well as a book chapter on post-stroke depression. She has also been a trusted source for news outlets, providing expert commentary on neurological conditions such as migraine and dementia.

Dr. Sukhdeo Singh earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed a double major in her undergraduate studies in biology and psychology at the University of Toronto.

Her professional interests include reducing disparities in stroke care, addressing stroke in women and young patients, advancing care for neurologic conditions affecting aging populations and promoting public education on stroke prevention and other neurologic disorders.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Sukhdeo Singh enjoys creating educational content on TikTok and Instagram to raise awareness about neurologic conditions. She also loves cooking cuisines from around the world, baking and spending time with her family.
