On Dec. 11, the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine received five-year reaccreditation for continuing medical education from the American Osteopathic Association’s Bureau of Osteopathic Education as a Category 1 Continuing Medical Education Sponsor.
As part of the reaccreditation process, the Institute scored a perfect 100 points on the Bureau’s survey, supported by documentation from its CME activities.
“This designation demonstrates the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine’s sustained commitment to maintaining accreditation standards, advancing professional education and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, evidence-based learning across our professional communities,” said Amy Bruce, DNP, MSN, Associate Chief Academic Officer for Health Sciences and Professional Education.
The survey evaluates multiple components of CME program quality, including practice gap analyses aligned with osteopathic core competencies, speaker qualifications, CME credit data management, program administration, policy compliance and outcomes measurement.
Dr. Bruce added, “As Vandalia Health continues to expand statewide, we remain focused on supporting our programs through compliant, effective and continuously improving educational initiatives.”
Earning a perfect score reflects the Institute’s excellence in delivering high-quality CME as the largest provider of continuing interprofessional education programs in West Virginia.
