Headshot of Dr. Jardine

The CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine is pleased to announce the appointment of Dink Jardine, MD, FACS, as chief academic officer, effective Aug. 26.

Dr. Jardine will report to Institute President James Campbell, II, MD. In this role, she will lead academic strategy, graduate medical education and faculty development, strengthening Vandalia Health Charleston Area Medical Center's mission of training skilled physicians and advancing research and innovation in education across Vandalia Health.

Dr. Jardine will also continue to serve as CAMC’s designated institutional official, a position she has held since 2024.

“I am excited to expand my existing role as DIO to include that of chief academic officer, as these roles are synergistic in their ability to help us continue to build a community of learning where every individual has the opportunity to teach and the opportunity to learn,” said Dr. Jardine.

“I’d like to focus on creating opportunities for all our learners to feel inspired and supported to develop the skills they need to ensure quality and compassionate care for all our patients today, and where all our faculty are supported with the tools they need to teach the next generation to deliver that care tomorrow.”

Dr. Jardine, a general otolaryngologist, joined the Institute in 2024 as associate chief academic officer for graduate medical education. She is a retired U.S. Navy commander with more than 25 years of experience in military and civilian medical education and has held national leadership roles with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the National Association of DIOs.

Dr. Jardine said, “I appreciate the opportunity to continue supporting the CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine in its endeavor to advance medical education, training and research that directly benefit our community and look forward to collaborating with our faculty and learners to build on our successes and further expand opportunities for education across Vandalia Health.”

The Institute celebrates Dr. Jardine’s appointment and looks forward to her continued leadership.
