CAMC is taking a proactive approach to the treatment of substance use disorder by offering a new continuing education course online for health care professionals.
Strategies for Compassion: Effectively Caring for the Patient with Substance Use Disorder explains how the health care professional can combat compassion fatigue, avoid stereotyping and eliminate barriers to the effective treatment of SUD.
The goal of this education is to provide information relevant to physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, pharmacists, counselors, case managers and social workers to empower them to feel confident in collaborating with the patient and the health care team to provide optimal and compassionate care when needed.
