Congratulations to Vandalia Health Charleton Area Medical Center cardiologist Elie Gharib, MD, on achieving a major milestone in the BIOMAG III clinical trial.

Dr. Gharib became the first investigator worldwide in the study to successfully implant the investigational absorbable stent and achieve less than 20% residual stenosis, a key measure of how effectively blood flow is restored through a previously narrowed artery.

He has since achieved the same outcome in a second procedure, and our site remains the only one in the trial to reach this benchmark.
