CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine - Annual Research Day - Tuesday, April 18, 2023

Information/Guidelines:

The Research Education Committee is pleased to announce that the 2023 Annual Resident, Student Research Day has been planned for Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

This conference will feature oral and poster presentations by fellows, residents, medical students, nursing students, pharmacy students, and other interested healthcare students. Accepted abstracts, case reports and original research, will be included in the conference proceedings. All abstracts will be held to rigorous review standards. Instructions and scoring criteria for original research, case reports and poster presentations are based on national standards established by recognized organizations such as the American College of Physicians (ACP). Research must have been conducted on a CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine campus.

Applicants are limited to one (1) abstract submission in either an original research or case report category. The Research Education Committee reserves the right to place accepted abstracts into oral or poster presentation sessions.

Research that has been published is not eligible for submission at the 2023 CAMC Research Day Program.

Criteria & How to Apply:

CAMC - Annual Research Day 2023 - Online Application

All abstracts must be submitted utilizing this on-line application process. You must submit your abstract by February 3, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.

One abstract per primary author is permitted. There is no limit on the number of abstracts submitted per co-author.

The CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine Institutional Review Board (IRB) must approve all original research prior to starting the project. Original research abstracts submitted without IRB approval will not be accepted for presentation.

For additional information on the IRB approval process contact the IRB Coordinator Michael Whitler at 388-9973, or access the following web page for forms and procedures www.camcinstitute.org/Research/grants.htm. All research that involves human subjects must be reviewed and approved.

A case study that includes just one patient will not need IRB approval. Case Presentations submitted with more than one patient case and no IRB approval will not be eligible for review and participation.

The Research Education Committee will review all abstract submissions prior to presentation – abstract acceptance emails will indicate the placement of the abstract; research and/or case in an oral or poster presentation.

The submission deadline is Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.

Awards:

Prizes will be awarded to those presenting resident/student research at a reception following the program. As in previous years, there are three resident/student research prize categories. The prizes for each are listed below:

(Research Day awards may be adjusted at the discretion of the Research Education Committee or Research Day judges.)
