Program objectives
This inaugural conference will equip clinical leaders with actionable, evidence-based strategies to drive down device-associated infections, optimize antibiotic stewardship and elevate frontline safety. Attendees will gain practical insights into implementing high-impact insertion bundles, universal decolonization protocols and sharps safety controls to eliminate preventable harm and improve institutional patient outcomes.
This activity is limited to 120 participants. No prerequisites are required.
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Strengthen infection prevention practices by reviewing current evidence and strategies to reduce bacteremia/CA-BSI and CAUTIs in clinical settings.
- Improve antimicrobial use and patient outcomes by applying core principles of antibiotic stewardship and identifying practical steps to implement or enhance stewardship efforts.
- Advance a culture of safety and harm reduction by learning best practices for universal decolonization, sharps safety and understanding the implications of harm related to HAIs.
Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The conference will be hosted at the CAMC Center for Learning and Research at 3044 Chesterfield Ave., Charleston, WV, 25304. The Center, east of downtown Charleston, is easily accessible from the 35th Street exit of I-64 East and I-77 South, as well as the MacCorkle Avenue exit off I-64 West and I-77 North.

Limited parking is available at the CAMC Center for Learning and Research. Participants may also park at the Alladin Restaurant parking lot, the former CHERI building lot or the Vandalia Health CAMC Cancer Center parking lot. A shuttle will be available from the CAMC Cancer Center lot. There is no charge for parking.
Every effort is made to have a comfortable temperature in the meeting room. However, we realize everyone’s comfort zone is different, so please bring a sweater or a light jacket.
