Fellows receive advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of primary and secondary headache disorders while developing expertise in both established and emerging therapies.
Through a high-volume outpatient headache practice, multidisciplinary collaboration and exposure to diverse patient populations, fellows gain the clinical skills necessary to care for patients with complex headache disorders, including migraine, cluster headache, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, medication overuse headache, post-traumatic headache and other challenging neurological pain syndromes.
Graduates of the program are prepared for careers in academic medicine, multispecialty practice or dedicated headache centers and leave the fellowship with the knowledge and procedural expertise needed to provide comprehensive headache care.

The mission of the CAMC Headache Medicine Fellowship is to train compassionate, highly skilled headache specialists who deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care while advancing the understanding and treatment of headache disorders through education, scholarship and lifelong learning.

- Develop expertise in the diagnosis and management of the full spectrum of headache disorders.
- Master procedural therapies used in headache medicine.
- Apply current evidence and clinical guidelines to individualized patient care.
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Participate in scholarly activity, quality improvement, and educational initiatives.
- Build the skills necessary for leadership in headache medicine and neurology.
