Vandalia Health Charleston Area Medical Center’s PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency is a fully accredited program with ASHP.

Upon completion of the program, the resident will have achieved a level of expertise in the adult internal medicine environment to function as a clinical specialist within a multidisciplinary team and to become a leader in the profession.

PGY2 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care or other advanced practice settings. Residents who successfully complete an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academic or other specialized positions and board certification.

I have really enjoyed getting to know my coresidents and sharing my pharmacy knowledge with the medical students and residents.

Being from rural Ohio, I like that Charleston doesn't have that big city feel. That said, there are a plethora of experiences to try in the area, like hiking trails, festivals, sports and the performing arts.
