Program Director's Welcome Message

Our primary goal is to graduate residents who can independently provide high quality care to a diverse group of patients. Our program creates a collaborative and inclusive environment for our residents to excel as physicians, educators and patient advocates. Continued personal and professional growth of our residents is our focus. Although it is very difficult for me to highlight all the positive attributes of our residency program, below are some of the strengths of our program:

• The opportunity to learn from a wide range of pathology
• The ability to work with a diverse group of physicians, taking care of a diverse patient population
• Dedicated academic faculty working closely with the residents to teach, mentor and advise
• A state-of-the-art Simulation center
• Opportunity to work in an inclusive and engaging teaching environment
• Opportunity to grow as a clinician and as a leader
• Ability to interact and teach WVSOM as well as WVU medical students
• Ability to work with supportive peers
