We define faculty development as structured programming that fosters the effective transfer of knowledge, skills and professional behaviors from educators to learners.
All CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine faculty members and educators are welcome to attend sessions relevant to their roles, as are fellows or trainees in their final year with a career academic interest.

A high-level series for program directors and chairs. Sessions will provide education and focus on local, regional and national resources for program leaders; shared challenges program leaders face; how to co-create solutions for specific challenges that arise in new leadership transitions; and more.

A comprehensive three-hour session for chairs and program directors on how to run a successful Clinical Competency Committee meeting, including conducting evaluation review, using milestones effectively, fostering group decision making, providing constructive feedback and navigating common challenges.

An in-person, two-day (one-half day each) training designed to strengthen core teaching and supervision skills. Topics include professional identity formation, learning climate, feedback, transitions of care and narrative assessments.

Logistics and details
Digital calendar invitations — which will include details such as session times, locations and descriptions — will be distributed to faculty by the Graduate Medical Education office. Sessions do not require formal registration beyond accepting the invitation.
